In mid-April, a group of volunteers coordinated by Dr. John Price and Sarah Ling came together to gather emergency supplies for the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation (MMFN), one of our community partners.
In 2018, CCHSBC co-sponsored and participated in the incredible Summerfest celebration which was hosted on the Land of Maquinna Cultural Society and the FFNF to celebrate Yuquot (Friendly Cove) and the arrival of many transpacific visitors to their territory. In particular, it had been 230 years since the return of Comekela, brother of Chief Maquinna, after spending a year in China.
I [Margarita James, member of MMFN] can't thank you and the others enough for the wonderful load of love. It was such a wonderful gift and appreciated by all! I absolutely love the sausages ... YUM! And the bbq pork? WOW! It's a family fave.
A special thank you to our members and friends who helped gather donations of personal protective equipment and food supplies to support the entire community living on the Tsaxana reserve, a remote community by Gold River on Vancouver Island. CCHSBC contributed a donation towards the purchase of BBQ meats and groceries from small businesses including 80lbs of BBQ pork and 250lbs of fresh melons!
